The International Max Planck Research School of Earth Systems Modelling is sponsored by the Max Planck Society and the Zeit Foundation and led by Jochem Marotzke of the Max Planck Institute of Meteorology, Hamburg. It trains young researchers in the skills and tools of earth system modelling, and furthers the state of the art of such models.
The IMPRS for Maritime Affairs ran from 2002 to 2014. It focused on physical, chemical, biological, economic and legal aspects on national and international management of the marine environment. There are still dissertations in progress.
