Led by Antonio Navarra and Laurence Tubiana, the EU-funded project aims at developing an assessment of the climate change impacts in the Mediterranean area.

CCTAME

Led by Michael Obersteiner, International Institute of Applied Systems Analysis, the EU-funded project concentrates on assessing the impacts of agricultural, climate, energy, forestry and other associated land-use policies considering the resulting feed-backs on the climate system in the European Union.

DINAS-Coast

Led by Richard Klein of PIK, Potsdam, the EU-funded DINAS-Coastproject aims to develop a suite of databases, models and methodologies forassessing the impact of and adaptation to sea level rise.

ECOBICE

Led by Claudia Kemfert, Oldenburg University,and Wolfgang Knorr, Max Planck Instituteof Biogeochemistry, the VW Stiftung funded ECOBICE project develops acoupled climate-ecosystem-economy model.

EMELIE

Led by Claudia Kemfert, Oldenburg University,the EU-funded EMELIE project studies the liberalisation of the Europeanelectricity market.

ENFA (2005-2008)

Led by Uwe Schneider, the EU-funded specificsupport action develops competitive market potentials for agricultural non-foodproducts.

ENSEMBLES

Led by Dave Griggs, Hadley Centre,the EU-funded ENSEMBLES integrated project develops ensemble-projections ofclimate change and studies feedbacks in the climate system. FNU contributes to Research Theme 7: Scenarios.

EPOBIO (2005-2008)

Led by Dianna Bowles, York University, the EU-funded EPOBIO project analyzes potential improvements of cell wall, biopolymer, and plant oil technologies. FNU is responsible for the economic analysis and intergation of ENFA results.

GEO-BENE (2006-2009) 

Led by Michael Obersteiner, International Institute of Applied Systems Analysis, the EU-funded GEOBENE project examines the benefits from Global Earth Observation in the areas of disaster, health, energy, climate, water, weather, ecosystems, agriculture and biodiversity. (download DOW)

Led by Stefan Rahmstorff of the Potsdam Institute of Climate Impacts Research,the BMBF-funded INTEGRATION project studies the implications of a possiblechanges in the thermohaline circulation.

ORFOIS

Led by Christoph Heinze of the Danish National Environment Research Institute,the EU-funded ORFOIS project studies the origin and fate of biogenic particlefluxes in the ocean and their interactions with the atmospheric carbon dioxideconcentration as well as marine sediment.

METHODEX

Ledby Paul Watkiss of AEA Technology Environment, the EU-funded Methodex project develops a database of externality estimates.

NEMESIS/ETC

Led by Paul Zagame of ERASME,Ecole Central de Paris, the EU-funded NEMESIS/ETC project studies endogenoustechnological change, energy consumption and production, climate change, andclimate policy.

QUANTIFY

The main goal of QUANTIFY is to quantify the climate impact of global and European transport systems for the present situation and for several scenarios of future development.

SiWebs

Led by Olivier Ragueneau of the Institut Universitaire Europeen de la Mer,Universite de Bretagne Occidentale, the SiWebs Research Training Networkstudies the worldwide ecological, biogeochemical and socio-economicconsequences of natural and anthropogenic modifications of the silicate cyclealong the land-ocean continuum.

TRANSUST.SCAN   

Led by Stefan Schleicher, Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO), this EU funded research project aims to scan a wide range of policy scenarios as to their relevance for the EU Sustainable Development Strategy in view of Impact Assessment.
